Questions, answered plainly
How the product works, where the information comes from and what you need to start.
Getting started
Who is ProspectingPro for?
People personally responsible for B2B prospecting who want to research specific businesses properly: solo business developers, consultants, SDRs, account managers, owner-led sales teams and small BD teams. UK company checks are especially useful if you sell services to UK SMEs.
Is it a bulk lead scraper?
No. It is built for focused, low-volume prospecting and for researching particular businesses in depth. If you need thousands of contacts in one go, a dedicated scraping or data-provider tool will do that better.
What can I do during the free trial?
Use 100 credits over 14 days to run real searches, review real prospects and test the qualification workflow. No card is needed.
Do I need to install anything or bring my own API keys?
No install: it runs in your browser. Managed-credit plans need no provider setup, and bring-your-own-key is available if you prefer it.
Is it only for UK prospects?
No. You can search the UK, US, Australia, Ireland, Canada and New Zealand. Companies House checks and filed accounts apply to UK registered companies only.
Search and company information
Google Maps or organic search?
Maps suits tasks where location and physical presence matter. Organic search looks more broadly across business websites. Pick whichever fits the task.
Does a Maps listing prove a business is trading?
No. A listing shows an online presence, not that the company is trading, financially active or right for your offer.
Does an active Companies House status mean it is trading?
No. It means the registered company shows as active on the register. It does not confirm current trading, financial health or buying intent.
Where does the financial information come from?
From the latest relevant Companies House filings. What is available and how recent it is varies by company, and ProspectingPro links to the original accounts where it can.
Can I assess one business, or import a list?
Both. Paste a URL into Site Scan, or import Excel or CSV, preview the proposed changes and choose to merge or replace.
What if a prospect is already in my pipeline?
Likely duplicates are flagged by similar names and websites. You decide whether to continue.
AI and scoring
What do the three scores mean?
Online score looks at broader digital and social presence. Website score looks at site quality and maturity. Product-fit score looks at the business in the context of what you sell.
Are the scores objective?
No. They are AI-assisted assessments from available information and the context you supply. Check the evidence and apply your own judgement.
How does it know what I sell?
You create selling contexts for your products or services. They inform fit scores, match summaries, pitch angles and action plans.
Which AI providers are supported, and can I use a local model?
Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, LM Studio, Ollama and OpenAI-compatible endpoints. Local models run through LM Studio or Ollama and need more setup, and quality depends on the model and your hardware.
Should I send AI-written wording without checking it?
No. Treat outputs as drafts and decision support. Check factual claims and adapt the language before you use it.
Pipeline and outreach
Is ProspectingPro a CRM?
It is a focused prospecting workspace, not an enterprise CRM. Teams who need advanced forecasting, marketing automation or complex shared account workflows may still want a dedicated CRM.
Which outreach stages and channels are included?
Stages: Not Started, Researched, First Contact, Follow-up 1 to 3, Meeting Booked, Proposal Sent, Won, Lost, Not Interested and Nurture. Channels: email, LinkedIn, phone, in person and referral, with first and last contact dates.
Does it send follow-up reminders?
It tracks follow-up dates, highlights overdue actions and lets you filter for them.
Can a deleted prospect be recovered?
Prospects are soft-deleted so accidental removals can be recovered.
Billing and data
What uses a credit, and do they roll over?
Each search uses 1 credit (Google Maps or Brave organic search). A Companies House search uses 1 credit and an AI score assessment uses 1 credit per business, and both are optional. Your monthly allowance resets each billing cycle and unused credits do not roll over. Top-up credits are different and never expire.
Can I buy extra credits?
Yes. Top-up packs are 100 credits for £5.00. You can add up to 99 packs per order, orders can be stacked, and top-up credits never expire. Buying them does not change your subscription.
Can I change or cancel myself?
Yes, in the Stripe billing portal: change plan, update payment details, view invoices or cancel.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Export a formatted Excel file with prospect details, scores, notes and statuses.
